Beta Test Version Release – My Fishing Journal Widget

Update:  The app is now out of beta test mode.  It is available on the Android Market.  Please feel free to try it out.

I would appreciate feedback regarding: problems encountered, usability, and feature requests.  Feel free to post feedback as comments to this post, or in the market.

UPDATE: I appreciate all the feedback so far. I will be implementing many of the proposed changes in future versions. With your help and feedback, we’ll make this a great app. Happy fishing!

Recently added features:

1) Adding multiple pictures. Support is being implemented for adding up to 4 pictures per fish.
2) Get date/time and GPS location from image data. Many devices include information inside an image about the GPS location and date/time a picture was taken. This will greatly speed the process for adding fish after the fact.
3) Copy of picture to gallery. When a picture is taken, the app will attempt to copy the picture to the device’s camera folder. This can make it easier to copy the images from your device to a computer. This won’t work on all devices.
4) Full resolution pictures. In landscape mode, the app previously did not support the full device resolution for pictures. This has been added and will be available in the next update.  5) Non-widget app access. There have been a few requests to have access to app data from inside the app rather than widget only. This will be implemented along with another widget option of a 1×1 widget for adding a fish only. This will be of benefit for those who are concerned about the amount of space taken up on the home screen by the widget.
