Weather estimates in CatchTrail
Starting with version 1.1.0 build 27, automatic weather estimates use data from MET Norway (The Norwegian Meteorological Institute), licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. CatchTrail selects the forecast time nearest the current time, converts wind speed from metres per second to kilometres per hour, and translates forecast symbols into readable condition names. These are model estimates, not measurements at your exact fishing spot.
CatchTrail caches forecasts on the device and rounds requested weather coordinates to two decimal places. The app’s separately saved catch location is not changed. Read the CatchTrail privacy policy for details.
Earlier entries and manually entered conditions
Earlier test builds used Open-Meteo weather data under CC BY 4.0. Existing entries retain their saved conditions. Imported or manually entered weather may come from the user’s original records; it should not be assumed to be a forecast supplied by MET Norway or Open-Meteo.
Weather estimates are provided without a guarantee of accuracy or availability. Do not use CatchTrail for emergency warnings, navigation, or safety-critical weather decisions. Check official local alerts before going on the water.
